Hi there, I’m Edoardo Federici

Since 2020/21, during Covid and my bachelor’s degree, I’ve become obsessed with data, Language Models and Natural Language Processing. My work spans R&D & industry, where I apply deep learning techniques & backend magic powder.

I’ve developed several projects, including Maestrale, an Italian LLM, Gazzetta Ufficiale for legal NLP tasks and Italian Sentence Transformers for enhanced semantic search. These projects have contributed to NLP advancements for the Italian language.

In the enterprise sector, I design and implement custom APIs that integrate NLP capabilities into business processes, addressing needs in text generation, classification and agentic workflows at scale.

I co-founded mii-llm, an Italian open-source, independent research lab and community for LLM development and discussion. This platform facilitates collaboration and idea exchange between researchers, developers, and AI enthusiasts.

Beyond my core work, I love hard sciences and music.
